Car bomb explosion in Mogadishu leaves five people injured

An Al-Shabaab car bomb explosion in Mogadishu injured five soldiers and one civilian on Wednesday morning.
The explosion occurred at a checkpoint in the Dhista neighborhood of Dayniile district, near the capital city.
The checkpoint was manned by ‘stabilization forces,’ who are part of the Somali National Army.
A security official, Ali Abdi Farah, said that the explosion was intended to target the heart of the capital, but the forces were able to prevent it.
He noted that this was the second time that they had prevented such an attack. The soldiers were taken to the hospital to receive medical attention.
