The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Djibouti Hassan Omar Mohamed on Monday arrived in the Somali capital Mogadishu where he was received by counterpart Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur.
According to local media, the two held talks on the need to strengthen relations between countries contributing troops to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
The Djibouti minister’s visit comes amid significant territorial gains made by the Somali government forces against Al-Shabaab terrorists.
In a Twitter post, the state-run SNTV News said Omar reaffirmed his country’s support to the Somali government and its people in the ongoing war against the terrorists.
