Armed militiamen kill two civilians near Cadalle district

Armed militiamen killed two civilians on Sunday morning in Burdheere, an area under the administration of Cadalle district in the Middle Shabelle region, according to local media reports.
One of the victims was reportedly an employee of a telecommunications company, while the other worked at a nearby water well.
The deceased were identified by residents as Fanah Maalim Habeeb and Muhidin Arale. Locals said the attackers were from Cadalle district and fled the scene after carrying out the killings.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, though it is suspected to be linked to clan-related revenge. Residents have raised concerns that the incident could increase tensions in the area.
The killing comes days after a vehicle driver was shot dead by an armed group also said to be from Cadalle, on the outskirts of the same district.
There has been no official response from Cadalle district authorities or from regional or federal security agencies regarding the recent incidents.
Middle Shabelle has seen repeated clan clashes over the years, with several peace efforts failing to produce lasting stability.
