Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) on Wednesday announced that it is seeking the arrest of Abdullahi Hassan Abdi Osoble, also known as Abdullahi Wadaad, a suspected Al-Shabaab leader accused of extortion in the Banadir region.

In a statement posted on its official platforms, NISA said that Abdullahi Wadaad had been under its watch for some time and warned the public against engaging with him. The agency also noted that it had intensified pressure on the suspect, disrupting his extortion operations.

No further details were provided on the nature of the investigation or his current whereabouts.

NISA has previously urged the public to cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspected militant activities, as community support is considered a key pillar of Somalia’s anti-Al-Shabaab campaign.
